Benefits of technology

The present invention is an exercise device and method that improves the strength of leg and hip muscles by allowing the user to perform adduction and extension of the hip joints using an exercise machine. The device connects to the user's ankle or sole, which changes the location of the pad on the machine, making the exercise more effective. This helps to increase the range of motion and direction of the hip joints.

Problems solved by technology

However, in a general bicycle, since a high hip motion range is limited to a rotation radius of a crank connected to a bicycle pedal, as shown in FIG. 2, the user's exercise is repeatedly performed only in a relatively small space when compared to the high hip motion range, and thus exercise efficiency in utilization of leg and hip muscles is limited.

Abstract

In general, a user performs an exercise for strengthening and hip muscles by pulling the legs toward the chest and pushing them outward with the pelvis as an axis, as shown in FIG. 1. Also, in a general bicycle, since a high hip motion range is limited to a rotation radius of a crank connected to a bicycle pedal, as shown in FIG. 2, the user's exercise is repeatedly performed only in a relatively small space when compared to the high hip motion range, and thus exercise efficiency in utilization of and hip muscles is limited.Accordingly, the present applicant's former disclosure was configured to increase the high hip motion range and direction by enabling a user to perform adduction as well as extension of the hip joints. However, the former disclosure was configured to locate a pad of an exercise machine connected to a weight on his / her and pull his / her toward the chest and push them backward in a sitting, lying, or prone position. When the pad of an exercise machine connected to a weight is on his / her thigh, the force is smaller compared to the force when the pad of an exercise machine connected to a weight is on his / her ankle or sole.Accordingly, the present disclosure is configured to locate the pad of an exercise machine connected to a weight on his / her ankle or sole of the user. The exercise method and the exercise device improve the exercise effect of strengthening leg and hip muscles by changing location of the pad of an exercise machine connected to a weight from his / her to his / her ankle or sole.
