Embodiment Construction

[0015] The figures show a helicopter according to the invention comprising a housing 2 which mainly houses a unit 1 comprising an internal combustion engine and a transmission, wherein a nose body 3 is connected to said housing and the Unit 1 protrudes into this housing. A tail section 4 is attached to the rear of the housing. The internal combustion engine of this unit 1 is a rotary engine, which drives the main rotor 5 and the tail rotor 6 .

[0016] The housing 2 for accommodating the unit 1 is hollow, and this cavity serves as a fuel tank 7 provided with a fuel line 8 . The recess 10 of the housing 2 is open toward the outside and accommodates an exhaust device 9 whose structure is explained below with reference to FIG. 4 . The shaft of the main rotor 5 is provided with a through hole 11 .

[0017] The radiator 12 of the internal combustion engine is arranged on the upper side of the nose body 3, and the coolant flows through the radiator. This radiator 12 is influence...

Abstract

The invention relates to an unmanned helicopter comprising an internal combustion engine and an associated fuel tank. The unit (1) formed by the internal combustion engine and the gearbox is arranged essentially in a self-supporting housing (2) which is at least partially closed all the way round, and preferably consists of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFK), a nose body (3) being connected to the front of said housing. In this way, a compact structure can be achieved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an unmanned helicopter with an internal combustion engine and a special fuel tank. Background technique [0002] Unmanned aerial vehicles are often used for survey flights in dangerous areas. These unmanned aerial vehicles are radio controlled. Helicopters are particularly useful for taking survey photographs because they can hover in almost fixed positions and have the ability to take off and land vertically. [0003] A conventional unmanned helicopter includes a main body that houses an internal combustion engine and is mainly composed of a three-dimensional frame with a cover. Such a structure would be more expensive to manufacture and would make the structure heavier reducing the maximum payload. Contents of the invention [0004] The purpose of the invention is to develop an unmanned helicopter that is easy to manufacture and compact in structure. This object is achieved in that the unit comprising the internal combu...
