Abstract

In one illustrative example, a mobile station includes one or more processors, a wireless transceiver coupled to the one or more processors, and a user interface including a visual display and a plurality of keys. The wireless transceiver is operative to receive messages including telephone number strings. When the message is visually displayed in the visual display, a hyperlink to the telephone number string is established in the message. The hyperlink to the telephone number string is highlighted when selected by the user during the visual display of the message. In response to a single press of the SEND key while selecting the hyperlink, a telephone call to the string of telephone numbers is initiated over the wireless communication network. The detection of the key may be performed immediately following the selection of the hyperlink without any intervening key presses. Along with this technology additional call origination technology is provided to provide a flexible and easy-to-use interface.
