The IP visual terminal system includes modules: image collection module for collecting images; signaling module for comm between terminal and other terminals; main control module for controlling executions of all modules; image display module for displaying digital image; moving image encoding module (MIEM) in use for compressing moving image; moving image decoding module in use for restoring compressed moving image to original digital image; data sending module for sending media data to opposite terminal; data receiving module for receiving media; file read / write (FRW) module for reading / writing static image data (SID); static image encoding module in use for compressing the collected images to SID, and transferring SID to FRW module; static image decoding module in use for restoring SID to original image data, which is displayed through image display module or transferred to MIEM. The invention overcomes disadvantages that visual terminal system cannot transfer static image.
