Abstract

An internal impedance detector for detecting the internal impedance of a secondary cell with high accuracy. A computing section (106) divides the variation of each voltage detected by a voltage variation detecting section (103) by the variation of the current detected by a current variation detecting section (105) for the same detecting time as that for the voltage variations to compute the internal impedances. A judging section (107) checks the variations of the internal impedances computed by the computing section (106) and judges from the check result whether or not the internal impedances have reliability. Only when the judging section (107) judges that the internal impedances have reliability, a generating section (109) generates output internal impedance according to the internal impedances.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an internal impedance detection device and an internal impedance detection method for a secondary battery, and a degradation degree detection device and a degradation degree detection method for a secondary battery. Background technique [0002] Currently, many hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles or fuel cell vehicles contain secondary batteries as a power source to provide the electric energy required to start the engine and drive the vehicle. [0003] Secondary batteries keep degrading according to the surrounding environment and the way they are used. Generally, when a secondary battery degrades, its internal impedance increases, and its capacity decreases. [0004] When the internal impedance increases, the power supply from the secondary battery is limited. Therefore, the performance of the vehicle using the secondary battery as a power source changes. Therefore, there is a need to detect the degradation state of...
