Embodiment Construction

[0019] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

[0020] As shown in FIG. 1 , a packet loss metric calculation system 100 is provided for calculating a packet loss metric of a video stream for NR objective video quality assessment. In FIG. 1 , a packet loss metric calculation system 100 includes an interception module 101 , a sampling module 102 , a detection module 103 and a packet loss metric generator 110 . In one embodiment, the packet loss metric generator 110 includes a counting module 104 and a computing module 105 . In addition, in one embodiment, the packet loss metric calculation system 100 further includes an optional scene change detection module 106, configured to detect scene changes in the video stream. The scene change will be described in detail later.

[0021] The intercepting module 101 is configured to receive a video stream from a video source (such as a video decoder (not shown)) and extract a pluralit...

Abstract

The invention provides a system and method of grouping lost measurement which is used to calculate no reference video quality estimation. Said grouping lost measurement calculating system includes: intercepting module which is used to intercept several adjacent image frames; collecting module which is used to collect several pixel blocks in every image frame intercepted; detecting module which is used to detect changes of every block between several frames, and judging whether the quality of image is decreased; and grouping lost measurement generator which is used to generate grouping lost measurement based on detecting result of detecting module. Beside, method of grouping lost measurement which is used to calculate video flow is also expressed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of no-reference video quality assessment, and more particularly to systems and methods for computing packet loss metrics for no-reference video quality assessment. Background technique [0002] With the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based video technology, there is an increasing demand for real-time evaluation of digital video quality for various visual communication services. Methods for video quality assessment include subjective and objective methods. Competent methods typically involve many human evaluators who grade or score video quality based on subjective perception, and use the grades or scores obtained by this subjective method to rate video quality. On the other hand, objective methods do not require the involvement of human evaluators, but simply evaluate video quality by using information obtained from video sequences. [0003] Objective video quality assessment methods can be ...
