Abstract

The method and system for multimedia video comm raises effect and efficiency of mechanism for detecting and reporting transmission quality of H.264 video network. The receiving end transfers info of quality monitored through feedback with in-band mode so as to avoid using additional channel. Only in time when receiving error occurs, the receiving end feed back info of quality monitored so as to reduce overhead of bandwidth as well as provide feedback in real time. Using SEI expanded message with in-band mode to feed back info of quality monitored, the invention is compatible with current H.264 protocol completely. Calculating priority index of video data, and based on degradation degree of channel, the sending end selects N units of video data with highest priority index in current frame or next frame; and then the said video data with highest priority index are encoded in frame and sent to the receiving end to eliminate error at the receiving end.
