Embodiment Construction

[0028] The present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with specific experimental examples and accompanying drawings.

[0029] As shown in Figure 1, the components of the long-distance OFDM signal transmission system solution in the optical fiber-wireless communication technology based on the phase modulator are described as follows:

[0030] Single-mode laser 1, used to generate a single longitudinal-mode optical carrier of a specified wavelength;

[0031] The Mach-Zehnder phase modulator 2 is used to perform double-sideband modulation on a single longitudinal mode optical carrier of a specified wavelength;

[0032] Erbium-doped fiber amplifiers 3 and 33 are used to amplify the power of modulated signals and optical signals transmitted in optical fibers; tunable optical filters 4 are used to filter out the center carrier wave of modulated signals at the receiving end of the base station; optical fiber links 5 and 55 , for the transmission of optical mo...

Abstract

The invention discloses a radio-on-fiber (ROF) communication system which belongs to the technical field of ROF communication systems and adopts a phase modulator for generating optical millimeter wave and simultaneously transmitting orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals. The invention uses the characteristics of higher reliability and cheapness when using the phase modulator for generating the optical millimeter wave, thus having the advantages of higher reliability and cheap performance, simple structure and easy implementation. The invention leads the OFDM signal to be uploaded onto the optical millimeter wave by using the phase modulating, thus prolonging the transmission distance of optical fibers.

Description

(1) Technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of millimeter-wave generation and long-distance signal transmission in the optical fiber-wireless (Radio-over-Fiber, abbreviated as ROF) communication system technology. (2) Background technology [0002] The future wireless access system will undoubtedly extend to the millimeter wave band. Due to the short transmission distance of the millimeter wave signal in the air and the relatively expensive millimeter wave electronic components, the current wireless access method cannot meet the requirements of the millimeter wave communication. Optical fiber-wireless communication system (Radio-Over-Fiber System, referred to as ROF system) will become the most promising technology for solving broadband wireless access. The ROF system uploads the millimeter wave and data signals to the optical carrier at the same time in the central station, and transmits them to the base station. In the base station, it only needs to perfo...
