Embodiment Construction

[0049] Using this positioning method requires three stages, which are respectively sampling stage, training stage and running stage.

[0050] In the sampling stage, the surveyor can use any laptop computer to obtain the signal strength of the AP measurement laptop computer at a certain distance for a period of time. These data are used for neural network training. Proceed as follows:

[0051] 1. At each point, first record the location information of the point, including the floor number and plane coordinates (x, y). The coordinates (x, y) of this method use map coordinates, and can also be converted to other coordinates as needed. A method for obtaining map coordinates is as follows: first obtain an electronic map, open it with an image processing tool, and then use the mouse to point to the current test location, and read the current pixel coordinates of the mouse point.

[0052] 2. Get the point AP to measure the signal strength of the laptop. This method uses the simpl...

Abstract

A positioning method based on neural network and wireless local area network basic structure is proovided, belonging to the wireless local area network client positioning. The data collecting module, database, positioning request module, positioning calculating module and positioning displaying module are arranged on the positioning server of the wireless local area network; the positioning server is accessed to AP via wireless accessing point obtaining the signal intensity information transmitted by a laptop of the client in a period of time under the predetermined distance interval and measuring time interval, and obtaining the floor number of the client and plane coordinate in real-time way by using Matlab Neural Network kit and displaying the floor number of the client and plane coordinate for the laptop of the client via web page; the signal intensity information comprises date, measuring time, identification of the wireless accessing point, client MAC and signal intensity. The average positioning error is 4.44m while the average sampling distance interval is 6.6m; the average positioning error is 2.98m while the average sampling distance interval is 3.7m, which is better than the effect of the Radar method.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to a method for locating a client in a wireless local area network environment. Background technique [0002] The complexity of the indoor wireless environment poses new challenges for positioning. Due to the relatively small indoor space, the large error of outdoor positioning systems such as GPS makes it no longer suitable for indoor environments. However, positioning systems using technologies such as Time of Arrival (TOA), Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA), and Angle of Arrival (AOA) require relatively large modifications to existing hardware, so they cannot be popularized. At present, the popular method of indoor positioning is to locate by measuring the signal strength. This method can be divided into two categories, one is based on the client, that is, the client measures the signal strength of the AP to locate itself; the other is based on the wireless Infrastructure, that is, the AP measures the signal strength sent by ...
