Abstract

The invention discloses a manual rotating cylindrical sediment sampler which includes a force applying part consisting of a T-shaped handle and a connection rod as well as a knife cylinder part consisting of the upper cover of the knife cylinder and the knife cylinder (comprising a cylindrical screw auger). The T-shaped handle, the connection rod and the upper cover of the knife cylinder all adopt the connection modes of a reversed U-shaped through slot and a cylindrical cross connector. The sampling personnel holds the T-shaped handle and vertically inserts the sampler into the underwater sediment. During the process of inserting down, the water in the cylinder is drained out from the drain hole of the side surface at the upper end of the knife cylinder as well as the water through hole of the center of the upper cover of the knife cylinder; after reaching a certain depth, the T-shaped handle is clockwise pressed down in a rotating way, the cylindrical screw auger at the lower end of the knife cylinder with the deep angle of 45 degrees rotates downwards; the collected depth of the sediment is confirmed according to the scale on the connection rod to finish the motion of sampling. The device can easily collect the cylindrical sediment with the needed depth under the operation of manual rotating; besides, the device has a simple structure, saves force, can maintain the sample to have non disturbances and fidelity sequences.
