The invention discloses a method for constructing session in an IP multimedia subsystem, which comprises the following steps: carrying domain information of an access network corresponding to a terminal address by registration request information during terminal registration; storing the corresponding relationship between the address and the domain information of the access network in net element of a core network of the IP multimedia system; selecting a matched address of a called party according to the selection range and the corresponding relationship by the net element, in which the corresponding relationship between the address and the domain information of the access network is stored, while a calling party initiates a session request; and constructing session between the terminal in the selected address and the calling party. The method can execute pre-selection and has the advantages of flexible execution, small change of the flows, no need for independent function entity, high execution efficiency, and easy execution when considering the feasibility of a plurality of deployments.
