Problems solved by technology

Using the traditional translational motion parameter model, it is impossible to accurately estimate the actual motion of the object, which will greatly increase the image residual after motion compensation, so that the purpose of effectively compressing the panoramic video cannot be achieved.

Embodiment Construction

[0029] Below in conjunction with accompanying drawing and specific embodiment the present invention is described in further detail:

[0030] Such as Figure 4 As shown, it is an operation flow chart of a global motion estimation method for panoramic video in the present invention. The operation steps of this method include:

[0031] In step 10, each frame of image is divided into several 16×16 macroblocks. If the difference between the predicted value of the brightness and the original value, that is, the brightness residual is greater than a set threshold MSE splitThr , see the following formula, then the 16×16 block is divided into 8×8 blocks again:

[0032] MSE splitThr = 5 λ 256 + QP 2 12

[0033] Step 20. In this step, a fast motion estimation method called diamond search method...

Abstract

The invention discloses a global motion estimation method for the panorama video, which comprises the following steps that (1) each frame of panorama video is divided into 16*16 blocks which do not overlap; (2) a fast motion estimation method is used for estimating the local motion of the 16*16 macro blocks in the panorama video frame separately to acquire the motion vector aiming at the macro blocks; (3) a global motion estimation parameter model is established; (4) the method of Gauss and Newton Iteration is used for acquiring the motion parameters of the global motion estimation; (5) the global motion parameters of the present frame is transmitted and the global motion compensation is implemented at the decoding terminal. The invention has the advantages that a global motion estimation parameter model which is suitable to code the panorama video is designed aiming at the features of panorama video; compared with the traditional translational motion model, the invention can save more code rate, and at the same time, the subjective coding quality is better.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to image and video compression technology, in particular to a global motion estimation method for panoramic video. Background technique [0002] Panoramic video is also called immersive video. The view point of the observer cannot be changed arbitrarily, and all surrounding scenes can be observed by changing the observation direction. Ordinary two-dimensional video only reflects a certain part of the omnidirectional video, which is difficult to make people feel immersive. Using panoramic video can establish a virtual environment for users to observe. Users can interactively understand the environment from different observation points and directions by roaming in it. A schematic diagram of a panoramic video camera such as figure 1 As shown in , the scenes around the same viewpoint are collected and processed by multiple cameras. A 2D scene from any viewpoint can be rendered from these acquired images. Panoramic video can be ap...
