Method and system for acquiring multiple views of real-time video output object

A real-time video and view technology, applied in the acquisition/recognition of microscopic objects, capturing objects visible under the microscope, image enhancement, etc., can solve the problem that the second view cannot be well focused, and achieve the effect of solving deep blur and reducing fatigue.

Embodiment Construction

[0041] Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the operator attempts to view the region of interest (ROI) through the microscope 7 while simultaneously viewing the tool / probe 5, 6 positions. In Fig. 1 a first image 20 is taken where it is not possible to see how the probes 5, 6 are in contact with the ROI. The resolution is also insufficient to determine how close the tip of probe 5 is to the ROI. In Fig. 2, the second image 30 is taken where the frontmost probe 5 is seen without feeling that it is placed perpendicular to the plane 4 and where the second probe 6 is not visible nor any detail other than an 'X' .

[0042]Preferably, a second image 30 from a microscope viewpoint is taken and projected onto the first image 20 taken from a different viewpoint. The first image 20 has a wider field of view and is located at an oblique angle of the second image 30 . The advantage of this projection is that the operator is able to see the details provided by the microscope 7 in the backgroun...

Abstract

A method for obtaining multiple views of an object for real-time video output, the method comprising: obtaining a first view (30) of the object; obtaining a second view (20) of the object that is different from the first view (30); and warping (33) the first view (30) using a homography between the first and second views (30, 20) such that the shape and position of the first view (30) matches the second view (20); wherein the warped first view (33) is overlaid on the second view (20) by applying a conditional copy using a mask calculated by the homography.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method and system for acquiring multiple views of an object for real-time video output. Background technique [0002] A microscope provides a highly magnified image of a narrow field of view through the optics of the device and eyepiece(s). Some microscopes offer zoom lenses and / or interchangeable lenses that allow the user to obtain a wider field of view to aid in scene visualization or to examine objects near a region of interest ("ROI"). Some microscopes are equipped with video cameras and displays so that the operator is not limited to looking through the eyepieces, but can simultaneously view the microscope's display and surrounding equipment. [0003] A system of microcomponents has been proposed that provides multiple camera views, allowing the advantages of high-resolution microscope views to be combined with scene information available in a wider field of view. Some systems combine two microscopes positione...
