Problems solved by technology

[0013] (3) Complex network protocols
[0027] 1. Such a networked system is difficult to deploy in actual situations and requires high installation and maintenance costs;
[0028] 2. It is cumbersome to manually mark the actual positions of all ultrasonic sensors;
And due to the time jitter (jitter) introduced by software / hardware and environmental interference will lead to inaccurate positioning; and
[0030] 4. Since at least three range samples are required to estimate the position of the target, very dense ultrasonic sensors need to be deployed in the building, so the system cost is high
And the system also needs to use a broadband ultrasonic sensor, which increases the system cost

Embodiment Construction

[0053] figure 1 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration of the Autonomous Ultrasonic Indoor Tracking System (AUITS) 100 according to the present invention. As shown, the system 100 includes a stand-alone locator (POD) 101 , a tag device 102 carried by a target, and a context information server 103 . In system 100, a tag device 102 carried by a target may transmit RF signals (synchronization signals) and ultrasonic pulses (location signals). The ceiling-mounted POD 101 infers the position of the target based on the time of arrival (TOA) of the ultrasonic pulses and utilizes an adaptive fusion strategy.

[0054] figure 2 is an internal block diagram illustrating the AUITS system 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown, the tag device 201 may contain a memory 203, for example storing a target-specific ID code. In subsequent communications, the ID code may be included in a synchronization or positioning signal to be transmitted to be s...

Abstract

The invention provides a localizer for tracking and locating an object as well as a self-government ultrasonic locating system and a method using the localizer. The self-government ultrasonic locating system comprises label equipment and the localizer, wherein the label equipment is installed on a moving object, comprises an RF and ultrasonic emitter, and is used for emitting RF and ultrasonic signals; and the localizer is used for receiving the RF and ultrasonic signals emitted by the label equipment so as to locate and track the position of the object. The localizer comprises a plurality of blade modules; each blade module comprises a locating signal receiver for receiving locating signals from the label equipment; known structural topotaxy exists among the blade modules; and the locating signal detecting time of the locating signal receiver and the known structural topotaxy are subsequently used for calculating the position of the object. Compared with the prior art, the localizer has the characteristics of high precision, easy disposing, no need of calibration, low cost, easy coordination, and the like.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to Indoor Location System (Indoor Location System, ILS) and position sensing, more specifically, relates to an independent locator based on ultrasonic waves and an autonomous ultrasonic positioning system and method using the same, for locating and tracking targets Location. Background technique [0002] In the ubiquitous computing environment, it is necessary to use ILS to provide location services to enhance existing applications and realize new applications. Currently, there is an increasing market demand for highly accurate real-time tracking of the location of people and objects in many different application areas (eg, medical care, security, coal mines, subways, smart buildings, restaurants, etc.). Some possible application scenarios are listed below. [0003] In an office environment, employees are required to access databases of confidential information within a secure area. Outside of this area, any access will...
