Abstract

The invention discloses a snake robot driven by ropes, comprising multiple sections of snake bodies; the snake bodies comprise a basic framework, ropes and a power unit, wherein the ropes wind on the basic framework according to the rules of from external to internal then to the external and form a closing rope structure overspreading the outer wall and the inner wall of the basic framework; one section of the rope on the inner wall of the basic framework is connected with the power unit; the rope structure is driven by the power unit to move; a guide mechanism is arranged at the edge point of the basic framework through which the ropes pass; and the guide mechanism ensures that the rope structure keep identical motion direction on the outer wall of the basic framework. In the snake robot driven by ropes of the invention, the snake body adopts a novel epidermal power type-rope driving method, namely, each section of the snake body adopts a rope to drive, which ensures that the epidermis of the robot snake possesses motive power, thus simplifying the motion modes of winding and twisting, wiggling, rolling and the like of snakes, being characterized by small volume, strong practicability, strong through capacity and fast speed and being capable of solving the bottleneck problems of insufficient power, difficulty in controlling and the like of the robot snake which are not solved.
