The position input device includes a control unit, when the conductor is adjacent to the first and second electrodes in the thickness direction of the substrate, the approach position of the conductor in the first and second directions is detected based on the variation of the electrostatic capacitance in the first and second electrodes. A plurality of first wirings are formed on the substrate, which makes first electrode components constituting any one of the first electrodes are conducted to each other.
