Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: receiving request information from a client for creating the files; determining at least one virtual RAID group according to the request information; determining a first virtual RAID group with the highest priority from at least one RAID group; acquiring identifications of storage nodes in the first virtual RAID group; and transmitting creating file distribution information carrying the identifications of the storage nodes of the first virtual RAID group to the client for creating the files on the storage nodes of the first virtual RAID group. By setting the priority for each virtual RAID group during file creating in the RAID, the embodiment of the invention can flexibly select the storage nodes in the virtual RAID groups with high priority during file creating, so that the loading and data storage of each storage node are equalized and the performance of distributed storage can be improved.
