Embodiment Construction

[0031] The following will refer to figure 1 Embodiments of the invention are discussed: In the accompanying drawings (for example, also containing figure 2 waveform examples in , etc.) and figure 1 , the dimensional ratio of each component may differ from the actual ratio in appropriate cases.

[0032] Such as figure 1 As shown in , the class D amplifier circuit 100 includes an operational amplifier section 10 , a triangular wave generation section 30 and a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal generation section 40 . In this embodiment, for example, subscripts "a" and "b" are used for symbols (reference numerals) in response to positive and negative like positive and negative input terminals. However, in the description of this embodiment, if there is no need to distinguish between them, the description of symbols may be omitted (for example, "triangular wave generating section 30" is a generic name for the triangular wave generating sections 30a and 30b and "integrating S...

Abstract

The invention relates to a class D amplifier circuit. The class D amplifier circuit includes a signal generation section that generates a first pulse width modulation signal and a second pulse width modulation signal based on an input signal. When a level of the input signal is zero, the signal generation section generates: the first pulse width modulation signal having a repeated first wide-width pulse signal portion, which has a wide width and a repeated first narrow-width pulse signal portion, which has a narrow width which is narrower than the wide width of the first wide-width pulse signal; and the second pulse width modulation signal having a repeated second narrow-width pulse signal portion, which has a narrow width and a repeated second wide-width pulse signal portion, which has a wide width which is wider than the narrow width of the second narrow-width pulse signal portion. A rising point in time of the second narrow-width pulse signal portion occurs after a rising point in time of the first wide-width pulse signal portion and a falling point in time of the second narrow-width pulse signal portion occurs before a falling point in time of the first wide-width pulse signal portion. A rising point in time of the first narrow-width pulse signal portion occurs after a rising point in time of the second wide-width pulse signal portion and a falling point in time of the first narrow-width pulse signal portion occurs before a falling point in time of the second wide-width pulse signal portion.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a class D amplifier circuit Background technique [0002] A class D amplifier circuit converts an input signal into a pulse width modulated signal with a constant amplitude and amplifies power. For example, Class D amplifier circuits are used for power amplification of audio signals. Class D amplifier circuits operate binary and thus can significantly reduce transistor losses. Also, the class D amplifier circuit has an advantage that it has higher efficiency than a linear amplifier regardless of whether the amplitude of the input signal is large or small. [0003] The class D amplifier circuit includes, for example, an integrating circuit for integrating an input signal; a comparing circuit for comparing an output signal of the integrating circuit with a predetermined triangular wave signal; Pulse Width Modulation A pulse width amplifier for pulse width modulated signals. The output signal of the pulse width amplifier is fe...
