The running machine comprises a running machine main body, a touch control plate, a computer, a motion parameter detecting sensor, a servo controller and a colorful display, wherein the computer is respectively connected to the touch control plate, the servo controller and the colorful display; the servo controller is respectively connected to the motion parameter detecting sensor and a running belt on the running machine main body; and a virtual live-action system is set up in the computer. The method comprises the steps of setting a selective interface of the touch control plate, loading a field, starting the motion parameter detection and invoking an API drawing object of an OpenGL. The virtual live-action system is added in the invention, so as to bring a feeling of being personally on the scene to the exerciser and achieve pleasure mood and high efficiency of doing exercise.
