Abstract

The invention relates to an onboard electric system for a motor vehicle comprising an electric generator (1), a battery (4), a generator controller (6), and at least one consumer load (7, 8) being supplied by the generator (1) and the battery (4). The generator controller (6) is configured in order to provide the generator (1) with a target output voltage (Usoll+Udiff). The generator controller (6) is equipped to detect the load state (SOC) and the load current (list) of the battery (4), and to vary the target output voltage (Usoll+Udiff) of the generator (6) until the load current (list) assumes an amperage (lsoll) that is predetermined as a function of the load state.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an on-board electrical system of a motor vehicle. Background technique [0002] DE 100 52 315 A1 discloses an on-board electrical system with a generator, a battery rechargeable via the generator, a generator control device for controlling the power output of the generator and at least one load. The generator control unit is able to predetermine a nominal output voltage for the generator, which is supplied to the generator at its connection terminals. [0003] Furthermore, a setpoint battery current is predetermined in the known vehicle electrical system. In order to adjust this nominal battery current, the control device varies the electrical power output at a certain load. [0004] Typically, the generator of the on-board electrical system of a motor vehicle is connected to the battery and the load via wires of non-negligible length, over which a voltage drop occurs, which can be several tenths of a volt, depending on the ...
