Abstract

The invention discloses a method for detecting traffic conflicts at a plane intersection based on video fusion. The method disclosed by the invention is remarkably characterized by comprising the following steps of: shooting an intersection (shown in Figure 1) by using a plurality of cameras, and fusing the videos of the plurality of the cameras to montage into a panoramic video of the intersection; and acquiring motion parameters of each moving object by processing the panoramic video, calculating conflict parameters and severities of the occurred traffic conflicts among traffic participating units, counting serious conflict statistics and traffic volumes at the intersection, and constructing a method for evaluating a security status at the intersection based on the video fusion so as to realize the evaluating and monitoring of the security status of the intersection. The method for detecting the traffic conflicts at the plane intersection based on the video fusion has the characteristics of low cost, accuracy and rapidness, brings convenience to the research of traffic conflicts at the intersection, and is beneficial to implementation of the effective improvement to the traffic control at the intersection so as to ensure traffic safety.
