Problems solved by technology

In addition, after the OLT sends the time synchronization message to the ONU, due to network congestion or other reasons, the time synchronization message may not reach the ONU or the message may fail due to too long a delay. In this way, the time on the OLT and the ONU may not be synchronized. Therefore, it seriously affects the services such as TDM on the PON that rely on the time synchronization mechanism

example 1

[0088] This example takes the Ethernet passive optical network (EthernetPON, referred to as EPON) as an example to illustrate the realization process of the present invention, wherein, the OLT utilizes the MPCP synchronization mechanism and the ranging characteristic of the EPON conforming to the IEEE802.3 specification to realize the communication between the OLT and the ONU. Time synchronization between OLT and ONU, and use MPCP or OSSPDU message to transfer time information between OLT and ONU, that is, use MPCP or OSSPDU message as time synchronization message. Figure 5 is the EPON network networking diagram according to the embodiment of the present invention, as Figure 5 As shown, the OLT is connected to five ONUs (ONU_1 to ONU_5) through an optical distribution network (Optical Distribution Network, ODN for short).

example 2

[0110] This example takes EPON as an example to illustrate the implementation process of the present invention, utilizes the MPCP synchronization mechanism and ranging characteristics of EPON to realize time synchronization between OLT and ONU, and adopts extended OAM messages as time synchronization messages between OLT and ONU transfer time information. This example uses Figure 5 The shown EPON network networking.

[0112] In step 801, the OLT acquires the round-trip time delay RTT of each ONU after ranging each ONU, that is, ranging information, and sends the ranging information to each ONU through a unicast message.

[0113] Step 802, when the ToD needs to be synchronized, the OLT at t n Read the...

example 3

[0133] This preferred example improves the existing technology and adds a confirmation mechanism. For the time synchronization message sent by the OLT, the ONU will send an acknowledgment message corresponding to the time synchronization message. Figure 10 It is a flow chart of the time synchronization processing method in PON according to the preferred example 3 of the embodiment of the present invention, such as Figure 10 As shown, the method includes the following steps:

[0134] In step 1001, the OLT sends a time synchronization message to the ONU, and waits for the ONU to return a valid confirmation message.

[0135] Step 1002, if the OLT receives the confirmation message returned by the ONU within the predetermined time T, then compare the parameters carried in the message with the parameters in the time synchronization message sent last time, and determine the confirmation message returned and the time synchronization message sent match. If they can match, it is co...

Abstract

The invention discloses a time synchronization processing method and system used in a passive optical network (PON) and an OLT (Optical Line Terminal). The method comprises the following steps: the OLT sends a time synchronization message to an optical network unit (ONU); the OLT waits for receiving a confirmation message from the ONU; and the OLT judges whether the time synchronization message is sent successfully according to the receiving of the confirmation message. Due to the adoption of the method and the system, the OLT can judge whether the ONU receives the time synchronization message in the time synchronization process of the PON to perform corresponding operation.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the communication field, in particular to a processing method, system and OLT for time synchronization in a passive optical network. Background technique [0002] Optical access technology can provide large bandwidth and high reliability. Passive Optical Network (PON) is a main optical access technology, which has been widely used in many regions around the world. [0003] The rapid development of data services highlights the requirement for the mobility of data access, and the integration of wired and wireless networks will better meet user requirements and improve user experience. The PON technology has data, voice and time division multiple access (TimeDivision Multiplex, TDM for short) full-service access capabilities, and can meet evolving wireless access requirements. Especially in the access applications of micro cells and femtocells, the convergence characteristics of PON can make the entire network layer clear, conven...
