The method comprises the following steps that: a BMC (baseboard management controller) management module receives a customized IPMI (intelligent platform management interface) command transmitted by a monitoring host; the IPMI command is correspondingly explained for the client server, a BIOS receiving module or a function test module based on an OS (operating system); the BIOS receiving module or the function test module based on OS correspondingly executes the explained IPMI command, and returns back a test result; and the BMC management module obtains the test result, and returns back the test result as a corresponding IPMI return value to the monitoring host.
