An embodiment of the present invention discloses a message processing method and associated devices, wherein the message processing method comprises the steps as follows: a first network device receives a forwarding message; a flow table matching is performed to the forwarding message, if the forwarding message is not matched, the forwarding message is sent to a second network device after packaged with a far-end tunnel inner layer packaging and a far-end tunnel outer layer packaging, so that the second network device can forward the forwarding message to a control server for processing; a flow table message returned by the second network device is received, wherein the flow table message carries flow table information of the forwarding message and is packaged with a special two-layer frame header; and the flow table message is processed according to operations indicated by Ether type values in the special two-layer frame header.
