The present invention relates to displaying a computer desktop on a wireless display surface. Techniques are provided for cloning a computer desktop to a wireless display surface. A source computer establishes a wireless connection with a display that communicates with the destination computer. The source computer's user console session has a virtual display driver corresponding to the wireless display. The application of the console session instructs the virtual display driver to render graphics to the display surface. The source computer takes the graphics information, which when executed on the processor generates images, text, sound or input - the source computer encodes the graphics information with a telepresence protocol.
