no. 1 Embodiment approach

[0057] refer to figure 1 , the printing system 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes a printing device 10 and a communication terminal 12 . The printing device 10 and the communication terminal 12 are connected to each other via a network 20 constituted by a LAN (Local Area Network) or the like, and can mutually transmit and receive various data.

[0058] The printing device 10 is an MFP (Multifunction Printer) having a scanner function, a copy function, a printer function, and the like.

[0059] The communication terminal 12 is a terminal device such as a PC that is operated by a general user to use the printing device 10 . figure 1 Only one communication terminal 12 is illustrated in FIG. 2 , but actually there may be a plurality of communication terminals.

[0060] In the printing system 1 , when print data to be printed is transmitted from the communication terminal 12 to the printing device 10 , the printing device 10 executes printing pr...

no. 2 Embodiment approach

[0152] The printing system 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention has the same configuration as the printing system 1 according to the above-mentioned first embodiment except that the programs for realizing the print data processing and the image correction data transmission processing are different. Hereinafter, only different structures will be described.

Abstract

When a request for acquiring image correction data is issued, as is periodically done by a communication terminal, a printing device transmits the image correction data, if the state of the printing device is in a normal mode or in a first energy saving mode. If the acquisition of the image correction data as is periodically done by the communication terminal fails, the printing device transmits the image correction data to the communication terminal at the time when the communication terminal creates print data.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a printing system including a printing device and a communication terminal, and particularly relates to a technique for transmitting and receiving image correction data. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, a printing system including a PC (Personal computer) on which a printer driver is installed and a printer that performs image formation based on image data transmitted from the PC is known. In such a printing system, it is known to perform image correction processing on image data, binarization processing of pixels, and the like on the PC side in order to reduce the load on the printer. In the case of using such a technique, the printer generates image correction data for adjusting image density and the like through calibration processing, and the PC performs image correction processing using the generated image correction data. [0003] An electrophotographic printer performs image formation using electros...
