Abstract

The invention relates to a measurement range enlarging use method of a gas tester and a corresponding novel gas tester. No gas testers with the measurement range of 0-20% exist domestically, and thus, the invention provides the measurement range enlarging use method of the gas tester; and the measurement range enlarging use method comprises the following steps of: (1) correcting the zero point ofthe gas tester in an air environment; (2) in the environment of gas to be measured, filtering partial moisture and carbon dioxide in the gas to be measured, sucking the gas to be measured into a middle air chamber and a side air chamber of the gas tester so as to replace original gases; and (3) switching on a light source, observing the displacement amount of a standard stripe, reading a scale value, multiplying the scale value by the originally-determined measurement range of the gas tester and then multiplying by 2, wherein the obtained numerical value is the percentage of the gas in the gas to be measured. The invention further relates to the corresponding novel gas tester, the measurement range of a CJG10 gas tester or other gas testers with the designed measurement range of no more than 50% can be doubled through simple modification, and thus, the measurement range enlarging use method of the gas tester and the corresponding novel gas tester are widely applied to various coal mines.
