[0070] Embodiments of the present invention will be described in further detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0071] The simulation experiment carried out by the present invention is programmed on a PC test platform with a CPU of 2.53GHz and a memory of 1.96GB.

[0072] Such as figure 1 As shown, the detection method of the salient object in the image based on the inter-regional difference of the present invention is described by the following steps:

[0073] (1), input the original image, such as figure 2 (a), calculate the saliency map of the original image, the specific steps are as follows:

[0074] (1-1), use the mean shift algorithm to divide the original image into several regions;

[0075] (1-2), Calculate the color similarity between each pixel in the image and each area, the calculation formula is:

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for detecting a salient object in an image based on inter-area difference. The method specifically comprises the following steps of: (1) inputting an original image and calculating a saliency map of the original image; (2) calculating and modifying the saliency map; and (3) updating the saliency map through iteration and finding a target rectangle in the greatest difference from the external area, wherein the image content of the internal area of the target rectangle is the detected salient object. The method can accurately detect the salient object in the image without setting any parameter.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical fields of computer vision and image processing, in particular to a method for detecting salient objects in an image based on regional differences. Background technique [0002] Research results in psychology and perceptual science have shown that when people observe an image, they do not pay equal attention to each area of the image, thus producing a saliency map corresponding to the degree of attention. In most cases, when people observe an image, they focus on a certain area of the image, which is called salient object. In other words, salient objects get higher attention than other regions of the image. If salient objects can be detected, it can provide great help to many applications such as salient object recognition, image adaptation, image compression, and image retrieval. The salient object detection method is applied in this background, and it aims to detect the salient objects in the image accurate...
