The invention discloses a selection method and a selection device for time-domain alternative signals. The method comprises the following steps of: obtaining M time-domain alternative signals by adopting an original frequency-domain signal and M scrambling sequences, wherein M is an integer more than 1; linearly combining part or all of the M time-domain alternative signals to obtain X time-domain alternative signals, wherein X is an integer more than 1; and selecting a time-domain alternative signal of which a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) value is minimally decreased from the M time-domain alternative signals and the X time-domain alternative signals. According to the technical scheme, the effect of decreasing the PAPR value without the increasing of computational complexity of a transmitter by using a selective mapping orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (SLM-OFDM) technology is achieved.
