The method realizes quick search of the forwarding database and improves forwarding efficiency and is characterized by including a forwarding database initializing step, a forwarding database searching step and a forwarding database adjusting step. The forwarding database initializing step includes storing each list item information of the MPLS forwarding database into an MPLS forwarding database node of a corresponding conflict link of the HASH structure by utilizing input labels as key values. The forwarding database searching step includes setting labels carried by MPLS label packet messages as key values, firstly searching out a conflict link where a target MPLS forwarding database node is located in the HASH structure and then finding out the matched target MPLS forwarding database node in the conflict link by comparing the key values, and modifying target hit times recorded in the MPLS forwarding database node. The forwarding database adjusting step includes adjusting the position of the MPLS forwarding database node in the corresponding conflict link according to the target hit times recorded in the MPLS forwarding database node. Further, the invention discloses a device for quickly searching the MPLS forwarding database.
