Abstract

The invention relates to a sewing machine and a control method of the sewing machine which use their respective motors to drive a main shaft and a cloth feeding mechanism. The sewing machine has a main motor and a cloth feed motor. The main motor drives the spindle. The spindle moves the sewing needle up and down. The cloth feeding motor drives the cloth feeding mechanism. The power transmission mechanism of the sewing machine converts each rotation of the output shaft of the cloth feed motor toward one direction and opposite direction into a swing motion of the cloth feed mechanism swinging back and forth horizontally once, and transmits the power of the cloth feed motor to the cloth feed mechanism. The CPU of the sewing machine detects the main rotation angle (S11). The main rotation angle is the rotation angle of the output shaft of the main motor. The CPU detects the cloth feeding rotation angle (S13, S19). The cloth feed rotation angle is the rotation angle of the output shaft of the cloth feed motor. The CPU calculates the rotational speed instructed to the feed motor by using the main rotation angle and the feed rotation angle ( S16 , S22 ).
