The configuration method comprises the following steps of: establishing objective functions including redundant capacity, shunt-wound branch number and weight of the UPS battery; establishing boundary conditions of the objective functions according to preset constraint conditions of the UPS battery; carrying out solving on the objective functions according to the established boundary conditions; and configuring the UPS battery according to the result obtained by solving. Besides, the invention further discloses a configuration apparatus of the UPS battery. According to the configuration method and the configuration apparatus of the UPS battery, the objective functions including redundant capacity, shunt-wound branch number and weight of the UPS battery are established, and the boundary conditions are established aiming at the objective functions; and aiming at the discreteness and the limited conditions of the battery capacity, an inversion voltage (direct current) voltage is permitted to be a variable design parameter, and factors such as economy and safe reliability and mobility (weight requirement) of parallel design are comprehensively considered, so that the optimal or more preferable configuration scheme of the UPS battery can be scientifically and effectively found.
