Abstract

The control system is characterized by consisting of four parts, namely, a detection unit, an industrial personnel computer, a PLC (programmable logic controller) unit and an executing mechanism. The content includes three parts as follows: 1), Laterite-nickel ore components and flux components are detected and analyzed on line in real time before smelting; 2), the flux matching ratio is calculated and automatic burdening is conducted; and 3), flux matching ratio calculation is perfected. The control system detects the components of every batch of raw materials and flux before entering the furnace, finds out corresponding dreg types of smelting through the computer according to characteristics of an Mg-Si-Ca ternary phase diagram, then works out the required amount of the flux, and adopts automatic control charging. Not only is a great deal of manpower saved, but also the preparation accuracy of smelting furnace charges is ensured.
