The system comprises a transformer shooting device used for shooting a transformer device image of a unit which is required to be monitored, an auxiliary switching station shooting device which is used for shooting an image of an auxiliary switching station device of the unit which is required to be monitored and an image acquiring device which is used for acquiring and displaying a transformer device image of the corresponding unit which is required to be monitored and images of auxiliary switching station devices of all units required to be monitored. By the aid of the system and the method, the monitored images in the transformer region can be displayed and controlled in a main control chamber, the shot images are stored and controlled through a video monitoring main control cabinet in a nuclear power plant turbine factory, and the monitoring in the main control chamber can be achieved under the condition that a prior video monitoring system and a control platform are not required to be replaced.
