Embodiment Construction

[0053] figure 1 A first exemplary embodiment of a transponder unit 100 using a reader 200 for contactless data transmission is shown. The transponder unit 100 and the reader 200 together form a system for contactless data transmission. Data transmission can be done inductively or capacitively.

[0054] The reader 200 sends a signal to the transponder unit 100 contactlessly, which signal contains clock pulse information. For example, such a signal may be a carrier signal. A commonly used clock frequency for the carrier signal in RFID systems is 13.56 MHz (according to ISO / IEC 14443). The signal is received by the transponder unit 100 and passed on to the clock generator 10 . If necessary, the signal is propagated by the clock generator 10 and passed on as a clock signal to the modulator 20 . The modulator 20 uses a clock pulse signal for modulating data for contactless transmission to the reader 200 .

Abstract

In various embodiments, a transponder unit (100) for the contactless transmission of modulated data to a reader (200) is provided. The transponder unit may include: a clock generator (10) configured to generate a clock signal and to synchronize the clock signal in a synchronization mode, on the basis of a signal received from the reader (200); and a modulator (20) configured to take the clock signal from the clock generator (10) as a basis for modulating data; wherein the modulator (20) is configured to send a signal for starting the synchronization mode to the clock generator (10).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a transponder unit, a system and a method for contactless data transmission. Transponder units, also called transponders, are used, for example, in chip cards, in labels and in devices for mobile data transmission. Transponder and reader together form a system for contactless data transmission. Background technique [0002] A distinction is made between passive and active transponders. In passive transponders, the energy supply and the data exchange between transponder and reader take place using magnetic or electromagnetic fields. In this case, the transponder absorbs the energy necessary for operation from the field of the reader via the antenna. In contrast to this, active transponders have their own energy source, for example a battery. Active transponders can be modulated passively by means of a load or actively by means of a driver stage. [0003] When transmitting data contactlessly between transponder and reader, i...
