Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-party session achieving method based on a session initiation protocol (SIP). The method mainly solves the problem that the prior art can not be used due to incompatibility of an operation client side and a server side. The method comprises the steps that (1) all multi-media meeting rooms are established in a pre-appointed mode, (2) interpreters are called to be in a meeting system, (3) all participants except the interpreters are connected to the meeting system in a calling-out mode by a multi-point control server, (4) the multi-point control server is connected with multiple terminal agents through the SIP, and transmits a service description protocol (SDP) of a multimedia meeting to terminals in the process of connection establishing, (5) multimedia meeting session is conducted, (6) the session is finished, and current multimedia meeting room resources are released.
