Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-party session achieving method based on a session initiation protocol (SIP). The method mainly solves the problem that the prior art can not be used due to incompatibility of an operation client side and a server side. The method comprises the steps that (1) all multi-media meeting rooms are established in a pre-appointed mode, (2) interpreters are called to be in a meeting system, (3) all participants except the interpreters are connected to the meeting system in a calling-out mode by a multi-point control server, (4) the multi-point control server is connected with multiple terminal agents through the SIP, and transmits a service description protocol (SDP) of a multimedia meeting to terminals in the process of connection establishing, (5) multimedia meeting session is conducted, (6) the session is finished, and current multimedia meeting room resources are released. According to the technical scheme, the problem is well solved. The multi-party session achieving method based on the SIP can be used for achieving a multi-party session based on the SIP.
