Abstract

The method comprises the following steps of: detecting the position of the fingertip in each frame of an image, and associating the fingertip in the current frame and that in the previous frame; in the associating step for tracking, predicting to obtain the position of the corresponding fingertip in the current frame by means of the detection position of the fingertip in the previous frame and the speed and acceleration, obtained by calculation, of the fingertip as a predicted position; and associating the fingertip in the current frame with that in the predicted position closest to the fingertip so as to associate with the corresponding fingertip in the previous frame to track the motion trail through the predicted position. The predicted position is predicted by information of the previous frame, and the predicted position is very close to the position of the corresponding fingertip detected in the current frame, so that the fingertip in the current frame is more accurately associated to the corresponding fingertip in the previous frame by using the predicted position as middle transitional amount to associate, and thereby, the tracking accuracy of the fingertip is improved.
