AI Technical Summary

Problems solved by technology

Localization and segmentation of mitral valve leaflets can be done manually, but manual segmentation is labor intensive and prone to large variance
However, tracking the mitral valve leaflets is very difficult, and currently there is no method for such tracking
Difficult to track the mitral valve due to the lack of reliable features and the rapid and irregular motion of the valve

Abstract

Systems and methods that facilitate image motion analysis are described herein. According to a first image motion analysis technique, the first image is warped according to a local affine model. The warped first image and the second image are compared, and a matching pattern between the warped first image and the second image is looked for. A value for a motion parameter is estimated from the pattern. According to a second image motion analysis technique, the image sequence is converted into an input matrix. The columns of the input matrix correspond to the vectorized images associated with the image sequence. Approximates the input matrix with a low-rank matrix that has a rank smaller than the input matrix. Detect one or more outliers for a low-rank matrix.
