Abstract

The invention relates to an optical coupling device used for enabling light rays emitted out from a plurality of light sources to be coupled into a light guide plate. The optical coupling device comprises a plurality of light guide parts. All the light guide parts are made of light transmitting materials and used for being arranged corresponding to the light sources respectively. Each light guide part comprises a light-in face, a light-out face, a top face and a bottom face. Each light-in face and the corresponding light-out face are oppositely arranged, each top face and the corresponding bottom face are oppositely arranged, and the top faces and the bottom faces are both connected with the light-in faces and the light-out faces. Each top face is perpendicular to the corresponding light-in face and the light-out face. The thickness of the light-in faces is larger than the thickness of the light-out faces in the direction perpendicular to the top faces. The light-in faces of the light guide parts are used for conducting optical coupling with the corresponding light sources, the light-out faces of the light guide parts are used for conducting optical coupling with the light guide plate, and thus the optical coupling efficiency of the light guide plate and the light sources can be improved while the thickness of the light sources is not decreased.
