Abstract

The invention provides a domain name resolution (DNS) acceleration method and device based on a home gateway, and relates to the technical field of computer networks. The DNS acceleration method comprises the steps that a DNS request of a user is monitored by the home gateway, a DNS cache is searched to determine whether a response message corresponding to the DNS request exists or not, if yes, a cache file is sent to the user, if not, the home gateway forwards the DNS request to a DNS server provided for the user by an ISP, and the home gateway receives a response from the DNS server, sends the response back to the user and stores a duplicate of the response in the DNS cache; weight values of all domain names in a DNS log are calculated at fixed times, and the domain names with the first N weight values are prefetched and updated into the DNS cache supposing that the capacity of the DNS cache is set as N by the user.
