The detection device fully utilizes resources of the washing machine, takes a micro controller of the washing machines as a core, and then is configured with a sine wave alternating-current excitation source, a conductive cell, a signal processing circuit and a temperature compensation circuit; alternating-current voltage generated by the sine wave alternating-current excitation source is added to an electrode of the conductive cell; alternating-current signal current is generated in the conductive cell, is in direct proportion to conductivity of a detected solution, and is converted to be a direct-current voltage by current-voltage conversion as well as amplification and wave detection of the signal processing circuit; the temperature compensation circuit performs temperature compensation; finally, the concentration of a detergent is obtained by processing and conversion in the micro controller of the washing machine. According to the invention, the concentration of the detergent is obtained indirectly by measuring the conductivity of the solution, and the concentrations of detergents of different brands are in a favorable linear relationship with the conductivity especially within the concentration range of 0-0.15%.
