Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for optimizing a configuration system of network elements of a software-defined network. The entity-specific configuration system is based on a network element-specific configuration system which relates to the entire network element and comprises configuration entries for determining operations to be performed by the network element. The method comprises forming (401) relationship data indicating for each of the functional entities at least one of those configuration entries not related to the functional entity under consideration such that the functional entity operates independently of these configuration entries. The relational data enables the entity-specific configuration system to be structured (402) such that the entity-specific configuration system for each functional entity is free of those configuration entries that are not relevant to the functional entity under consideration according to the relational data.
