Abstract

The invention relates to a space-time code encoding method for a mobile satellite communication system with a ground relay. In the mobile satellite communication system, the relay is introduced to acquire higher transmission reliability. According to the method, space-time codes are designed based on the mobile satellite communication system with the relay, so that the higher transmission reliability can be acquired without sacrificing transmission rate. The method includes: firstly, deciding on the length of to-be-designed space-time codes; then, designing a constructing matrix so as to solve the problem of maximization of average mutual information between transmitted symbols and received signals. In the constructing matrix design process, an energy distribution criterion that identical transmission power is allocated to each transmitted symbol when a channel is used every time is followed. By the aid of the space-time codes designed by the method, the average mutual information approximate to system traversal capacity can be acquired, and the method is good in error code performance.
