Embodiment Construction

[0090] exist figure 1 An embodiment of a shielding device 1 comprising a shielding part 2 that can be removed from an attachment part 4 is shown in . In this example, the shielding part 2 is a piece of rigid material, eg cardboard, plastic or a laminate thereof. The shielding portion 2 is shown as a planar piece of material, but may also have a three-dimensional shape. The attachment portion 4 takes the form of an elongated member 6 that wraps around a limb (eg an arm). The elongate member 6 may be a wristband that is clamped on the arm. The attachment part 4 also includes a holder 8 secured to the elongated wristband 6 . Selected shielding parts 2 can be slid in and out of the slide-out holder 8 . Therefore, the shielding part 2 can be removed and discarded, while the attachment part 4 is reused. Different shielding parts 2 can be used with the attachment part 4 for different purposes.

Abstract

A device (230) for shielding at least a portion of a limb from view of a wearer of the device (230) includes a shielding portion (232) having a first generally planar configuration and a second configuration having a three-dimensional shape. The shield portion (232) includes one or more hinge lines (238) capable of allowing transition of the shield portion from a first configuration to a second configuration. The device also includes an attachment portion (234) whereby, in use, one or more elongate members (236) are attached around the wearer's limb. The edge portion (239) of the shielding portion (232) can comprise an outer edge opposite the hinge line (238) at least partially divided into independently movable segments so that the edge portion (239) can bend to Aids in converting said masking portion (232) into a three-dimensional configuration.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to a shielding device for shielding at least a part of a limb from the field of view of a wearer of the device, a dispensing part and a method of manufacture of the shielding device, and a kit for insertion of a subcutaneous implant. Background technique [0002] In a clinical setting or anywhere else where medical technologists treat patients, it is important to make patients feel at ease. Many medical procedures involve the use of needles or other devices on a patient's body. Often, patients are afraid of needles, or feel uncomfortable seeing medical procedures or wounds. Some patients may even faint at the sight of needles, blood, or open wounds. While a patient may close their eyes or turn their head away during an injection or other medical procedure, this prevents participating medical technicians from maintaining eye contact with them. It is desirable for the patient to be able to see and talk to the medical te...
