Embodiment Construction

[0042] refer to figure 1 , the patient's abdomen has an upstream stoma S1 and a downstream stoma S2. The two stoma are adjacent to each other and are referred to as proximate stoma. Depending on the type of surgery, the stoma may also be further apart, eg each positioned on the patient's flank. The upstream stoma S1 communicates with the upstream portion I1 of the intestinal tract continuing from the stomach (not shown). The downstream stoma S2 communicates with the downstream portion I2 of the intestinal tract which continues to the anus (not shown). These two parts of the gut, I1 and I2, are shown in dashed lines.

[0043] exist figure 1 Among them, the first watertight connection means 11 is assembled to the upstream stoma S1, and the second watertight connection means 12 is assembled to the downstream stoma S2. The first and second watertight connection means 11 and 12 are connected to the pump forming means 3 , which are controlled by the control means 5 . The first...

Abstract

The invention relates to a device allowing alimentary bolus flow, of the type comprising pump means (3) that are designed to draw in, and subsequently force out, an alimentary bolus. According to the invention, the device also comprises: first sealed connection means (11) that can connect the pump means (3) to an upstream stoma (S1) located on the patient's abdominal wall; second sealed connection means (12) that can connect the pump means (3) to a downstream stoma (S2) located on the patient's abdominal wall; and pump means (3) that can be actuated by a user and are designed to be mounted on the patient's body.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a device that enables the flow of a bolus between two stomas. Background technique [0002] To treat conditions such as acute diverticulitis, rectal cancer, bowel damage, and inflammatory bowel disease, it is often necessary to remove part of the bowel and create a stoma. To do this, the end of the intestine, created by removing part of the intestine, is sutured to the skin of the patient's abdomen. Both ends are sutured open so that the interior of the intestine can be reached in the patient's abdomen. For the purposes of the present invention, a stoma means the open end of the intestinal tract, which is flush with the skin of the patient's abdomen. This treatment can be temporary or permanent and leads to many limitations in quality of life and digestive system function. [0003] In colostomy (stoma of the colon) and ileostomy (stoma of the small intestine), normal bowel function is interrupted and a bolus is passe...
