Abstract

The invention provides a quantum dot tube and a liquid crystal display device. The quantum dot tube comprises an inner tube (11), an outer tube (12), an optical fiber (13), an LED light source (14), encapsulating glue (15) and quantum dots (16), wherein the quantum dots (16) comprise a red quantum dot (161) and a green quantum dot (162); the LED light source (14) is a blue LED light source; and the optical fiber (13) is an optical fiber with cladding layer removed. The quantum dot tube can avoid influence of heat produced by the LED light source to the quantum dots, thus prolonging the service life of the quantum dots and improving the efficiency; and the inner tube and the outer tube are used for encapsulating, so that the use amount of the quantum dots is reduced, and the production cost of the quantum dot tube is lowered. The liquid crystal display device comprises a backlight module and a liquid crystal panel, wherein the quantum dot tube is adopted for supplying the light source for the backlight module, the service life of the quantum dots is long, the efficiency is high, the cost is low, and the color gamut of the liquid crystal display device can be greatly expanded.
