Embodiment Construction

[0020] Identical or similar elements are identified with the same reference symbols in relation to the drawings and the description.

[0021] figure 1 A cross-sectional view of a device for introducing a liquid sample (not shown) into a microfluidic system (not shown) according to a first embodiment of the invention is shown. The device has an adapter assembly 10, preferably formed from a multilayer structure (not shown). Thus, for example, an upper component (not shown) and a lower component (not shown) are used, in which intermediate channels 20 , 25 are formed which are provided for the fluidic connection of the adapter component 10 to the microfluidic system. These components can be made of polymers, for example thermoplastic polymers such as PC (polycarbonate), COC (cycloolefin copolymer), COP (cycloolefin polymer), PE (polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene) production. The underside of the lower component is shaped, for example, by milling, hot stamping or injection mold...

Abstract

The invention relates to a device for introducing a liquid sample into a microfluidic system, comprising an adapter component (10), which can be fluidically coupled to the microfluidic system via at least one channel (20), and which has a receiving section (30), wherein the receiving section (30) is provided for guiding and accommodating a sample container (40), and positions the sample container (40) in a first predetermined receiving position by means of a boundary element (50) after introducing the sample container (40) into the receiving section (30). Starting from the first predetermined receiving position, the sample container (40) is conveyed up to a second predetermined receiving position within the receiving section (30), in which an opening element (60) arranged below the receiving section (30) in the adapter component (10) penetrates the sample container (40) such that the liquid sample of the sample container (40) can be conveyed to the at least one channel (20).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a device for introducing a liquid sample into a microfluidic system, which is provided in particular for a fluidic connection with a diagnostic unit having a lab-on-a-chip (LOC) system. Background technique [0002] Laboratory-on-a-chip (LOC) systems are widely used when clinical analysis of patient samples reveals the presence of disease-causing pathogens. The system has to accommodate patient samples and subsequent processing within the LOC kit (LOC-Kartusche). Parallel to this is an embodiment variant in which the vial with the patient sample is placed in a kit (without LOC system) provided for single use, which in turn is combined with a diagnostic unit with LOC system fluidly coupled. In particular, patient samples are to be considered here, which are present in liquid form, for example as saliva and irrigation solutions, as urine samples or blood samples in so-called blood collection tubules. [0003] Patient samples s...
