The cultivation technology comprises the following steps of: (1) breeding porcupine selection; (2) breeding period environment management including the steps of: during the breeding period, keeping breeding environment quiet and dry, and preventing sound, light, and strong irritation of specific smell from entering a breeding house; (3) male and female match mode, wherein four porcupines are bred in one big cage, and a one-male two-female mode is adopted for mate; (4) mate age, wherein the female porcupines are mated in 10-16 months of age, and the male porcupines are appropriately mated in 11-18 months of age; the breeding utilization age limit of the porcupines is 1-10 years, the female porcupines in a reproductive peak period are 3-8 ages, and the male porcupines in a reproductive peak period are 2-9 ages; and aged, weak and sick breeding porcupines exceeding the breeding age limit are timely weeded out; (5) estrus induction; (6) breeding embryo number control. According to the cultivation technology of the porcupines, the breeding porcupines, mating age and breeding embryo number are reasonably controlled, and high reproduction rates and survival rates of the porcupines are ensured.
