The method for synchronizing port diagnostic information is applied to a first switch device in a storage area network. The method comprises steps of: acquiring the port diagnostic information of the first port; saving or updating the port diagnostic information of the first port locally; sending a first diagnostic information addition message to each of other switch devices in the storage area network; receiving a second diagnostic information addition message sent by a second switch device in the storage area network; and saving or updating the port diagnostic information of a second port locally.
