Abstract

The present application discloses a cable partial discharge (PD) source location method based on an online decision rule, which is used for locating a single PD source or a double PD source in a single-core cable network. This method selects the PD signal energy after wavelet transform as the signal feature, and obtains the energy distribution at each cable joint according to the feature; and monitors the temperature at all joints in real time to obtain the temperature distribution at the cable joint. Then the three-dimensional coordinate system is used to comprehensively analyze the obtained energy distribution and temperature change at the joint, and the position section of the PD source is directly determined according to the online decision rule. The method described in this application has sufficient versatility for locating single or double PD sources, without the need to establish a special database, and without considering the characteristics of PD sources (defect size, thickness and position in the insulation) and related parameters of the cable network .
